Hello, Mama’s! Happy Day 31 of my 90 day TurboFire challenge!!! In case you haven’t read my previous blogs, I am documenting my 90 TurboFire workout challenge. The workouts can be found on Beachbody On Demand and comes with a calendar with workouts already provided for you and a nutritional guide and other tools you may need to start this challenge. They also have other workouts as well. I just really loved TurboJam so much that TurboFire just seemed like a logical next step! I will probably try something a little different when this is over. I haven’t decided what though. I kinda want to do something light and fun but then again I want to become jacked! I want to be hardcore with six-pack abs and muscles for days! So maybe I will try insanity. I think there is a TurboFire/ Insanity hybrid calendar online somewhere. I will have to look into it!
Day 31 – One Day at a time actually works!
So who would’ve thunk it? One day a time is just something people tell you so that you don’t give up, or so I thought. Turns out it actually works! Everyday that went by was one step closer to my goal. Now I know that I still have 59 more days to go but it doesn’t seem as bad as it did on day 1. I can do certain moves that I was unable to do before. I don’t feel like my lungs are going to explode after each minute of HIIT! I love HIIT! I am thinking of doing the extended schedule. It seems like something I might actually be able to do now. I got the first schedule off of Google before I found out that if I logged onto Beachbody On Demand on my laptop, I could find a printable schedule there. The Beachbody On Demand App on my Roku TV is different from the laptop version. Where as you can only find videos on my TV app and the laptop has all the stats and extra more personalized stuff. So starting on this past Monday (Week 5), I started using the schedule provided by Beachbody On Demand.
This calendar, as you can see, goes up to 20 weeks. Now I noticed that when I calculated how many more days that was that the original calendar was not 90 days. It is actually 84 days and with the added 8 weeks it will be 140 days. I guess that is fine but on the app it days 90 days! If you subtract the rest days you have even less. I don’t know how they came up with 90, honestly. I guess its alright. No sense in worrying about that. Maybe I should just rename this a 12 week challenge? lol
I have been doing a lot of reading on the Ketogenic diet and if a vegan Keto diet was possible. I am not a professional or licensed dietitian or nutritionist so please don’t take this as professional advice. From what I gathered, a ketogenic diet is a low carb high fat diet. It would bring your body into ketosis and cause it to stop burning carbs for fuel and start burning fat instead. I feel like even though I have been working out and eating healthy, the weight is coming off slowly. In fact I’ve been stuck at about the same weight since May. The 220 to 225 range. Now its been 2 weeks since I last weighed in and my weight doesn’t seem to be dropping fast.
It has dropped 1.8 lbs in the last 2 weeks. Now this has to be due to my diet because I have been doing the workouts. I know it can’t be from missing a day or two here and there. I workout super hard and I am starting to get frustrated and I hate that. I should know that it’s different for everyone but tell that to my stupid emotions. They get to me every time! So this is what I will be trying with my diet. No more potatoes and rice and fried breaded foods and beans. No high carb high starch anything. Hopefully this will help the scale start to move. My Hubby’s work schedule also changed this week. He will no longer be off on my off days which means I can start to workout on those days again. So I will be taking my rest day on Wednesday as the schedule suggests and working out for 6 days instead of 5 like I was doing before.
Vegan Keto Eats
I start of the morning with a wheatgrass shot and my multivitamins and coffee. Then when I get to work I have a protein Shake with almond milk for breakfast sometimes with blueberries but I ran out this week.
This was lunch… tofurky Italian sausage with kale, spinach, tomatoes, and onions.
Dinner was kale mushrooms, green peppers, onions, and broccoli with a slice of Field Roast Chao vegan Cheese and a teaspoon of nutritional yeast.
