Well it’s finally over. Now is the time that most people start to look back and think of all things they have done or accomplished throughout the past year. They also start to think of the new year and all it will bring. New challenges and obstacles to overcome and crush! New places to go and new things to see. Being a mom has it’s own set of things to look forward to. Like going back to school and work after the holidays and getting your kids back on the homework track after the holiday vacation and maybe trying to get back to normal eating habits that don’t include holiday cookie, candies, and all the delicious goodness that comes with holidays. Well here are a few ideas that might help you mama’s get back on track!
GET BACK ON SCHEDULE
Get a dry erase calendar to help keep your new year organized and on schedule. Whatever that is, but you know what I mean! If you miss an appointment (Which I used to do all the time before getting this calendar) At the end of each month you just erase and start a new month. Also you’ll start the year off reducing your carbon footprint. Nice!
TRY MEAL PREP
To keep from wanting to grab a bite to eat from the closest fast food joint, try prepping your meals on the weekends for the whole week ahead. If you feel the strongest urge to get fast food while on lunch at work then just start with that. If lunch is already made and all you have to do is grab it on the way out the door then you’re less likely to forget it. Don’t forget to add something semi-sweet so you won’t be tempted to hit up the vending machines.
WALK IT OFF
If you’re anything like me, the after holiday doldrums might be trying to set it. If so then maybe try taking a walk once a day to help get you’re energy back up. The fresh (chilly) air should help you snap right out of it. So leave the kiddos at home with the hubby, play a little mood music on your Iphone, and put some pep in your step!
GET STARTED ON YOUR GOALS
Whatever it is that you wanted to tackle or accomplish this year, go ahead and get started. Whether a Mom Blog (Like Me), a new workout program, or a hobby you wanted to learn, a list of places you want to travel to, or even just more down time. There is no time like the present to start planning or even just doing. Dreams don’t work unless you do! Basically just grab this new year bull by the horns and make it your b@*#% and don’t stop till you’re proud!
DON’T FORGET TO HAVE FUN
Make time for a little fun. Build a fort out of couch cushions. Make a mud pie. Have a dance party with the Hubby and kids. Whatever puts a smile on your face!
